West Chicago City Museum Paints History of St. Patrick's Day
West Chicago, IL: February 26, 2009 -
St. Patrick’s Day arrives early on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the West Chicago City Museum. Celebrate the Irish immigrants who helped found and build West Chicago and the railroad that runs through it by painting a traditional blarney stone. Craft Saturday is a drop in event for all ages from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
One weekend a month, the City Museum holds free craft activities for children to learn about local history and the world around them while creating a treasure to take home. Children receive an activity booklet and a sticker at each Craft Saturday they attend, with certificates and prizes awarded.
The West Chicago City Museum is located at 132 Main Street, and is open Tuesday - Friday, 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Admission is free.
