West Chicago Acting Mayor Ruben Pineda Issues Declaration of Emergency

Cooling Station Announced for Wednesday, July 4, 2012


West Chicago, Illinois: July 3, 2012 - Acting Mayor Ruben Pineda today issued a Declaration of Emergency due to the widespread damage caused by a severe storm on July 1, 2012. The Declaration formally directs departments and agencies charged with response and recovery activities under the West Chicago Emergency Operations Plan to respond with haste, in accordance with the plan, to bring said emergency to a rapid conclusion for the best interest of the residents of West Chicago.

Also announced is the location of a Cooling Center for residents still without power in anticipation of tomorrow's predicted severe heat warning. The following are details for the Cooling Center:
