KEVIN SZUL
Student-of-the Month for November 2009

The faculty and administration of Community High School would like to congratulate Kevin Szul for being chosen Student-of-the-Month for November.

As an active member of SkillsUSA for four years, Kevin has taken on the leadership role of President for the past two years. He was instrumental in planning the program that honored our local veterans at the 9/11 football game. One teacher describes Kevin as a dependable, outstanding leader who has the ability to encourage others to get involved.

Another teacher states that Kevin “is a thoughtful student who takes school seriously.” Enrolled in three AP courses as well as German 4, Kevin has risen to the challenge by earning membership in the National Honor Society and German National Honor Society. He has won numerous awards including Who’s Who Among American High School Students, National Society of High School Scholars Award and the Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education Excellence Award. In addition to academic awards, Kevin has also earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Outside of school, Kevin works part-time at Menards in the Customer Service Department. As an adult, he would like to have a job that would benefit many people and allow him an opportunity to achieve his goals. One of his goals is to attend a four-year university and major in Aerospace Engineering. He hopes to one day be employed by a large aircraft manufacturer working on cutting edge projects.

The anonymous quote, “If you always do what you always did, you’re going to get what you always got”, describes Kevin’s philosophy of life. He believes that you should continue to try new things in order to grow. Kevin looks forward to graduation day and the opportunity to begin to apply the knowledge and skills he has acquired in high school.

The administration, faculty, and staff at Community High School congratulate Kevin on all of his accomplishments and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
