DuPage County has nearly five-hundred miles of bicycle and pedestrian trails with a fantastic mapping app that allows you to customize your route from start to finish whether you are a casual or experienced walker/runner/rider. The trails are great places to exercise, experience nature, make a “trail-cation” with the family, geocache, go horseback riding, train for a marathon, bird watch, or visit a restored prairie. Over 80% of DuPage County residents live within an eight minute bike ride (one mile) of our regional trail system. This trail system is also easily accessed by Metra train for those coming from Cook County. If you want to drive to a trail, there are parking lots close to trail heads and in most forest preserves.
