August 1, 2012 - This purpose of this newsletter is to inform you that the City of West Chicago has awarded the 2012 Old Heidelberg Collector Street Area Improvement Project to J.A. Johnson Paving Company. Based upon a schedule provided by the contractor, construction will begin during the week of Monday, August 6, 2012. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.
This project is funded in part by Dupage County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding. Proposed improvements include asphalt milling and resurfacing of over 1.5 miles of City streets along with intermittent concrete sidewalk, and curb and gutter removal and replacement. Project locations include the following:
- Church Street, from Town Road to Wood Street.
- Norris Street, from Ann Street to Washington Street.
- Ann Street, from Church Street to Joliet Street.
Daytime on-street parking will not be allowed during construction, when "No Parking" signs are posted. Alternate daytime public parking will be available on adjacent streets. Please obey all other local parking restrictions and signing.
Driveway access may be periodically restricted during construction. Please note all construction activities are scheduled between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturday. Traffic will be restricted during construction hours but all streets will be open to traffic at the end of each business day.
