Coffee with the Mayor, a monthly program designed to provide opportunities to connect with elected leaders, has steadily increased attendance. The fourth Saturday of every month (with few exceptions), from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. brings residents together with local officials to talk about whatever is on their minds.
This past Saturday, January 27, 2018, Mayor Pineda welcomed Senator Michael Connelly, along with other local leaders, to the conversation. Topics included state and local budgets, state pensions, and an update from Community High School Board President Gary Saake on D94 contract negotiations.
Those attending definitely left better informed on these and many other issues. Senator Connelly has offered to return next month, Saturday, February 24, 2018 to continue discussing important topics concerning West Chicago residents. All are invited to attend, no advanced registration is required, and coffee is provided.
