This newsletter is to inform you that construction for the Curb Rehabilitation Program is tentatively scheduled to resume throughout the Forest Trails Subdivision during the week of October 3, 2016, weather permitting. The anticipated completion date for the work is October 31, 2016.
As a property owner within the subdivision, you are receiving this informational letter but please be advised that not all properties in the subdivision will be directly impacted. This year’s program consists of completing the remainder of the locations that were not repaired as part of the 2014-2015 program.
The Curb Rehabilitation Program will repair smaller, but structurally sound, sections of damaged curb and gutter by removing the damaged section(s) using chipping hammers followed by sandblasting and rapid hardening repair mortar. The final surface will be contoured and finished to match the adjacent curb and gutter section. Locations to be repaired will be identified by the City with paint.
Construction activities for this project are scheduled between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM Monday through Friday and between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM on Saturday. Barriers will be placed on both ends of the repaired curb to prevent residents from damaging the curb.
As the work progresses, the City will update you on the project’s status. Please visit www.westchicago.org periodically for the latest construction news update. If you should have any questions regarding the 2016 Curb Rehabilitation Program, please contact:
