The purpose of this newsletter is to inform you that on Monday, May 15, 2017, the City of West Chicago awarded the 2017 Willow Creek Resurfacing Project to Geneva Construction Company (Geneva). Based upon a preliminary schedule provided by Geneva, construction is anticipated to begin the week of Monday, June 26, 2017, subject to change based on the weather. The anticipated completion date is Saturday, August 26, 2017, weather permitting.
Proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, the following items: pavement milling and hot-mix asphalt (HMA) resurfacing, full-depth HMA pavement patching, intermittent concrete sidewalk, curb ramps, combination concrete curb and gutter removal and replacement, and thermoplastic pavement markings for pedestrian crossings. The total length of construction covers 1.12 miles of City streets within the Willow Creek Subdivision. Project locations include:
- Lakeside Drive
- Long Oak Drive
- Acorn Hill Lane
- Thomas Drive
- Sassafras Drive
These streets were chosen based on the availability of funds and the condition of pavement. For the streets identified above, daytime on-street parking will not be allowed during construction. Daytime public parking will be available on adjacent streets. Please obey all other local parking restrictions and signage.
Driveway access may be periodically restricted during construction. Please note all construction activities are scheduled between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturday. Traffic will be restricted during construction hours, but all streets will be open to traffic at the end of each business day.
