This newsletter is to inform you that a water service interruption is scheduled for Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at 12:00 a.m. The area affected will be all properties on Main Street and Turner Court between Washington Street and Center Street. The City of West Chicago Water Division will be replacing a broken water valve for the property located at 207 Main Street and will need to turn down the city water supply to complete this work. Every effort will be made to maintain nominal water pressure during construction, but said pressure may not be sufficient for business operations, showering, dishwashers, etc. The water will be restored to full pressure as soon as the new valve is installed.
As a property owner, business owner, and/or renter within the affected area, you are receiving this informational letter to allow you to prepare for the interruption of water service. In advance, we apologize for any hardship this scheduled, but unavoidable, water interruption might cause you.
Construction activities for this project are scheduled between 5:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday October 10, 2016. Crews will be working near 207 Main Street to start excavation and prep-work for the night time repair. Barricades will be placed on the East side of Main Street to protect the work area and keep cars from parking in the construction zone. Work crews will return at 10:30 p.m. to set up and complete repairs. The City water supply will be turned down at midnight (12:00 a.m. October 11, 2016). Repairs are expected to be complete by 3:00 a.m.
