An exciting month-long exhibit of student work from all seven schools in West Chicago’s Community School District 33, showcases the artwork of students from Kindergarten through eighth grades.
The featured exhibit titled Art is the Heart of the City, opens on Thursday, March 1, 2018 with a special reception from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. The community is invited and encouraged to attend and support the work of all participating students, faculty and administrators who have made this annual event possible.
Each school will exhibit some of the artwork done throughout the school year, in a variety of media from painting, drawing, or sculpting and show how students learn about cultures throughout the world.
Art classes are an opportunity for all children to create an original piece and express their imaginations. Teachers and administrators of D33 believe this show represents some of what the elementary art education program can accomplish.
For all those who cannot make the reception on Thursday, March 1, 2018, stop in during the Gallery’s open hours the entire month of March to enjoy the creative talent of West Chicago’s youth.
