Begin your Autumn Haiku adventure by locating the sixty-plus Haiku yard signs that have been installed by the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission on a online interactive map provided by the City’s GIS specialist.
The haiku, created by members of the community, provide positivity and connectivity during the difficult days of the pandemic. Residents and visitors may circulate the neighborhood on foot or by car to read the creative autumn-themed poetry printed on the bright orange yard signs in the front yards of homes and businesses throughout the City.
The poems contain messages of hope, gratitude and the beauty of the season. Commission members believe that Autumn Haiku will serve as a reminder that no matter what the challenge, we’re in this together.
Autumn Haiku will be remain installed through the end of the year.
