About the Artist:
Patricia M. Murphy is a 1963 graduate of West Chicago Community High School. She attended Columbia College, Chicago, receiving a M.A. in Interdisciplinary Art, and the School of the Art Institute, receiving a M.F.A. for Work in Sculpture.
Patricia has curated and produced 49 exhibitions, including work with international student exchanges from New Zealand, Ireland, Africa, Italy, England, Austria and China. She has also curated and produced 58 performance events, ranging from art festivals to folk and ethnic performances.
Murphy has specialized in the creation of numerous youth art programs, many which have produced public art murals. Here in West Chicago she designed and worked with teen artists on the 2002 “Forever, Lily” outdoor mural. Murphy has since worked on two Venetian glass murals in Chicago.
