Brush Collection Program

Brush Collection Program

Brush Collection Program Dates
Brush must be placed prior to the listed collection dates, but no more than 2 days prior. Placing brush out more than 2 days prior to collection dates will result in a citation. Please note: Brush collection does not coincide with residents' regular garbage/recycling days.

Brush collection begins on the following dates.

  • Monday, May 2 (Brush can be placed no earlier than Saturday, Apr. 30)
  • Monday, June 6 (Brush can be placed no earlier than Saturday, June 4)
  • Tuesday, July 5 (Brush can be placed no earlier than Sunday, July 3)
  • Monday, Aug. 1 (Brush can be placed no earlier than Saturday, July 30)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 6 (Brush can be placed no earlier than Sunday, Sept. 4)
  • Monday, Oct. 3 (Brush can be placed no earlier than Saturday, Oct. 1)
  • Monday, Nov. 7 (Brush can be placed no earlier than Saturday, Nov. 5)

About the Brush Collection Program
The Brush Collection Program runs from May through November each year. Brush collection is done through the first week of each month and continues until the City's contractor has driven each street in the service area. If there is a holiday on the first Monday, collection will start on the next day (Tuesday) after the holiday. Brush collection for the entire City is normally completed within five work days. The City's contractor will drive down each residential street only once.

A charge of $1.75/month for the Brush Collection Program is reflected in your quarterly water/waste & recycling collection bill. Unincorporated residents who are not assessed this monthly fee do not qualify for the City's Brush Collection Program.

Brush Collection Program Details
Limbs should be no larger than eight inches in diameter (length is unimportant), and neatly stacked with all butt ends in the same direction facing the curb line.

The program is not designed for collection of whole tree removals. If a tree is removed, the resident is responsible for disposal of the brush and logs from the tree. If it is placed on the parkway for pickup, the City's contractor will not pick up the brush. The program is for trimming of trees and shrubbery for enhancing yard appearance. Anything more than this is the resident's responsibility. Brush piles will be rejected if they contain limbs over eight inches in diameter, root balls or any foreign materials such as metal, lumber or fence posts. Material bundled with rope or twine, or placed in containers, will also be rejected.

Small twigs from yard clean ups should be disposed of through the yard waste sticker collection program.

Please remember that the City's contractor will not return for brush that is placed out after they have been through the area. The City's contractor alternates the start of collection from the north side to the south side of the City each month, so it is important for residents to have brush placed out just prior to the first Monday of the collection month.
