The West Chicago City Museum will be offering three exciting new programs to the community this spring and summer. Advance registration is required for the Half-day Summer Camps and information on all three programs follows:
1860s Burlington Depot – 134 Turner Court
The West Chicago City Museum and the Friends of the Museum are happy to announce that the 1860s Burlington Depot, located at 134 Turner Court, behind the Museum, will be open once a month this summer,beginning Saturday, May 10, 2014, National Train Day, from noon – 4:00 p.m.
The general public is welcome to stop by the Depot to see exhibits on West Chicago railroad history, including a model of the Chicago & North Western Roundhouse that was located where the current West Chicago Police Station is located. Additionally, the Depot will be open on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in connection with Blooming Fest, Saturday; June 14, 2014 from noon – 4:00 p.m.; Saturday, July 12, 2014 from noon – 4:00 p.m.; and Saturday, August 9, 2014 from noon – 4:00 p.m.
New Historic Walking Tour
The City Museum is launching a new historic mobile walking tour during the month of May. Stop by the Museum or City Hall to pick up a brochure that will help you navigate this self-guided tour or see our website for more information.
Half-day Summer Camps Return
The City Museum is happy to be bringing back its Half-day Summer Camps for kids ages 5-12. The two morning camps will run from 9:30am-noon on Thursday, June 19 and Thursday, June 17.
