Starting on November 1, 2019, fans of West Chicago may pickup the 2019 West Chicago Historic Landmark Ornament, featuring the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union Fountain at the City Museum, 132 Main Street in downtown West Chicago.
The ornament depicts the iconic fountain in its original location, at the intersection of Main and Washington Street. The fountain provided refreshment for both horses and people. It was moved in 1909 to make way for the interurban line, the Aurora Elgin & Chicago.
In 1997 it was placed at 126 Main Street, just steps away from the City Museum, where it stands today as a prominent display of history
Ornaments are $10 and all sales benefit the Friends of the Museum.
