Due to construction issues which prevent the scheduling of the 2015 Railroad Days event at Reed-Keppler Park in West Chicago this year, the City Council canceled the four-day event, but saved two of its popular elements; the fireworks and the parade.
Following several weeks of discussion by City and Western DuPage Chamber (the organization contracted by the City to organize and coordinate the festival) officials, it was determined that no suitable alternative location existed for the established four-day event. The fireworks will be on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at dusk, or in the event of rain, Sunday, July 12, 2015 at dusk. Spectators may view the fireworks at Reed-Keppler Park or the surrounding neighborhood.
The Railroad Days parade will take place on its normal route on Sunday, July 12, 2015 starting at 1:00 p.m.
