This Saturday, Haggerty Ford in West Chicago is helping find permanent homes for local rescue animals as part of the dealership’s first annual pet adoption event.
The “Cats, K9s, and Cars” event, hosted in partnership with the Animal Welfare League, runs 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Haggerty Ford’s dealership lot (330 E. Roosevelt Rd. in West Chicago). Volunteers from the Animal Welfare League, Chicagoland’s largest human society, will be on-site to provide information and coordinate pet adoptions for rescue dogs and cats.
In conjunction with the event, Haggerty Ford is accepting pet supply donations to support the Animal Welfare League’s shelters in Chicago Ridge and South Chicago. Items on the League’s ‘Wish List’ range from baby bottles and leashes to litter boxes and cleaning supplies, and donations may be dropped off at the dealership prior to and during the event.
“We are firm believers in the important work the Animal Welfare League is doing in our communities,” said Michaela Kevan, sales consultant for Haggerty Ford, who is coordinating the event. “If we can bring awareness to this work and help just one animal find a home, we consider that a success.”
For every pet adopted on Oct. 20, Haggerty Ford will make a contribution to the Animal Welfare League.
Since 1935, the Animal Welfare League has worked to improve the lives of animals through adoption programs, low-cost clinics, cruelty investigations, and public education.
