Healthy West Chicago will be bringing back its annual 5K Fun Run on Saturday, August 20. This annual event is featured on a 5K Certified Course on the Illinois Prairie Path at Reed-Keppler Park near Zone 250 at 201 West National Street.
The event is held in-person on August 20 at 7:30 a.m. with a one-mile youth run beginning at 8:30 a.m. There is an option to participate virtually from August 20 to August 21 for participants who do not wish to attend the event.
Early-bird registration is currently available through Sunday, July 25. Early-bird registrants will receive a commemorative 5K Fun Run t-shirt and will also be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a three-pack of admission passes to Turtle Splash Water Park, which will be raffled on Monday, August 1 for three separate winners. Regular registration will be available until the day of the race.
Registration fees are $25 for adult residents; $10 for students 17 and under; and non-resident adult registration is $30. The one-mile youth run is $5 for youths 10 and under.
Medals for first-place, second-place, and third-place winners for eight different age groups will be awarded for both male and female participants. In addition, a special trophy will be given to both the male and female overall winners of the race. All one-mile youth run participants will also receive a commemorative Finishers Ribbon.

All funds received from race proceeds will be used to assist with the enhancement of nutrition and physical activity programs in West Chicago, and ensure that all residents have access to health and wellness opportunities.
