With the return of the school year, parking on certain streets surrounding the West Chicago Community High School will be restricted from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on school days, except for holders of permits for residential parking. Anyone parking on identified streets without a permit may receive a ticket.
Residents located along these streets can now apply for residential parking permit online by visiting westchicago.org/residentparkingpermits, or may apply for a permit by visiting the City of West Chicago Police Department, 325 Spencer Street, during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residential parking permits are issued by the City of West Chicago's Police Department to residents who reside along certain streets in the general area surrounding the West Chicago Community High School that are frequently used during school days. These general areas are defined by the following Permit Areas, a map of these areas and defined streets are also available on the City’s website.
- Permit Area A: Streets south of W. Washington Street and north of Ann Street from Sherman Street to Wood Street.
- Permit Area B: Streets south of Ann Street and north of Hazel Street from Sherman Street to Joliet Street
- Permit Area C: Streets south of Geneva Street and north of Hazel Street from Joliet Street to Blakey Street and Wilson Avenue.
