The West Chicago Park District is celebrating 50 years in the community and has announced a special Anniversary Celebration event for Saturday, August 20 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reed-Keppler Park to commemorate the occasion.
The event will feature live music performances from American English, a Beatles tribute band, and also Sammy and the Knights, a rock and roll cover band. In addition to live music, there will be food and drinks along with family-friendly entertainment that include a roller rink, car show, balloon artist, henna tattooist, and more.
“This is a tremendous occasion for the West Chicago Park District, and we hope the entire community can come out to celebrate this special moment with us,” said Executive Director Gina Radun. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than to throw a party in our community’s backyard at Reed-Keppler Park.”
As part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, the West Chicago Park District is also inviting former and current staff members and Commissioners to a special VIP area from 3 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Free appetizers and snacks will be provided, and a group photo will be taken at 5 p.m. Those interested should RSVP by visiting the West Chicago Park District’s Facebook event page at https://fb.me/e/eksfjKr99, or by contacting Melissa Medeiros at mmedeiros@we-goparks.org.
