West Chicago will be a featured city in an ongoing promotion to encourage shopping locally. A partnership between 95.9 The River, a rock and roll radio station that covers the western sububurbs exclusively, and West Suburban Bank, will shine a spotlight on local business through a comprehensive “live here, shop here” campaign which will feature different suburbs each month.
Throughout the month of May, West Chicago will be highlighed in the Buy it In the Burbs program on the station that believes, the “west burbs are the best burbs”.
Additionally, the City of West Chicago will be the sponsor of a companion spring promotion, “Braggin in the Burbs” On Friday, May 20, 2016 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., listeners will be invited to call in and “brag” about their favorite business or restaurant in the City of West Chicago. The studio number to call is 630-585-7529.
“It all adds up to a great opportunity to get some well-deserved exposure for our many fabulous businesses and restaurants,” said the City’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator Rosemary Mackey. “Set a reminder to call in and brag about what business you love best in West Chicago”.
Also on Friday, May 20, 2016, 95.9 The River will be doing a “Stop By” remote broadcast on the corner of Main Street and Galena Street from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. “That’s where all the action for Blooming Fest preparations begin,” said Mackey. “The West Chicago Garden Club will be setting up its 30 x 40 foot tent in preparation of the annual plant sale the next day. Getting The River out for a remote broadcast will add to the excitement.”
