Mexican Independence Day Parade & Celebration
Saturday, September 13, 2014
Businesses, civic and sport clubs, not-for-profit organizations and individuals wanting to show community spirit are invited to participate in the 2014 Mexican Independence Day Parade, part of a larger celebration which will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from noon to 4:00 p.m.
The rain or shine event is expected to bring 1,000+ people into the community’s downtown for an afternoon of music, dance, culture and history in commemoration of Mexico’s independence from Spain in 1810.
There is no charge for participation in the parade and applications are available here. The parade travels down Main Street from the east gateway to Galena Street in the historic downtown. Volunteers for the day of the parade are also needed and are asked to contact Valeria Lopez at (630) 293-2200 x170 as soon as possible.
