Since 2010, Kramer Tree Specialists of West Chicago has donated its services, lights, and tree ornaments to create a magical community tree for the holiday season.
The tree, located outside of the Fox Community Center at 306 Main Street in historic downtown West Chicago, takes center stage at the annual tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, December 1, 2018 following the Frosty Fest procession, at approximately 4:15 p.m.
This year, Mayor Ruben Pineda will present Jeff and Todd Kramer with a special plaque honoring the spirit of their father, Joe Kramer, who passed away earlier this year. The plaque was created by local wood artist LeRoy Fennewald using a slice of a downed tree from Reed-Keppler Park, and burning a design and inscription from the City on behalf of the entire community.
The Frosty Fest 5K begins at 7:30 a.m. and the actual Frosty Fest starts at 4:00 p.m. with downtown activities. All details, including weather contingencies, may be found here.
