This week two West Chicago business owners were recognized for their leadership. Martha Ocampo, owner of Supermercado Tampico, and Gloria O. Perez, owner of Gloria’s Jewelry, were honored at the Mujeres in Business event at Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora and hosted by the Aurora Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
The event was a showcase of diversity and meant to inspire the next generations of leaders and entrepreneurs. Those recognized came from different backgrounds such as elected officials, community leaders, business owners, and volunteers.
The special guest for the event was Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti who spoke about her life experiences as a student, mother, business owner and elected official. The message was one of empowerment, kindness, growth and endless possibilities.
