The West Chicago Police Department Traffic Safety Unit announced the 3/8 on Route 38 enforcement campaign was a success.
Officers were out in force checking for child safety seat and occupant restraint compliance, DUI drivers, aggressive driving, excessive speed and distracted driving within the City.
By the end of the day, 22 traffic citations and 21 written warnings were issued including (but not limited to) 9 citations and 3 warnings for excessive speed, 7 citations and 1 warning for seat belt and/or child restraint violations, 1 no valid driver’s license arrest and others. The number of warnings indicates the commitment to educating the motoring public as well as enforcement.
“We are trying to reduce traffic related injuries and deaths this year with the use of high visibility, frequent and safety targeted patrols,” said Sergeant Spence Kroning.
All the members of the West Chicago Police Department encourage you to live, work play and drive safely.
