People interested in helping residents of the DuPage Care Center, during the COVID-19 crisis, now have an easy way to donate needed items with the click of a button. This press release is courtesy of DuPage County.
The DuPage Care Center staff and residents have made an Amazon Wish List. It can be found at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2UFNN5EW56Q5R/ref=cm_go_nav_hz. Items will be shipped directly to the DuPage Care Center.
The list contains art supplies, inexpensive electronics and cords, magnifying lamps, large print books, weighted blankets and other miscellaneous items that will help improve the residents’ quality of life. Monetary donations are also being accepted and can be made payable to the DuPage Care Center Foundation. Donations can also be mailed to the DuPage Care Center, 400 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, IL 60187.
DuPage County Health and Human Services Chairman Pete DiCianni said, “While we are staying safe at home, it’s a great opportunity to grant a few wishes from some of our most vulnerable friends and neighbors. They are not able to see their loved ones in person at this point. Providing a few items that make their lives easier or a little more fun is a great way to show we care during this especially challenging time.”
The Care Center is currently not allowing visitors per guidelines from the Illinois Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control.
