The West Chicago Fire District in cooperation with the West Chicago Park District will be conducting training sessions at Reed-Keppler Park. This training will involve propane tank fire simulation. The Fire Department and neighboring Fire Departments will participate in order to be fully prepared for pressurized tank emergencies. This training will include live fire conditions.
The details for the training are:
- The date for the training sessions will be April 6, 11 & 13, 2016
- The training sessions will be conducted each day from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.
As part of this training, you may see the glow of fire in the sky or the actual fire itself used during the training sessions, this is normal and part of the training sessions. However, if you think there is an emergency you should CALL 911 immediately. If you have any other questions or concerns regarding these training sessions call (630) 231-2123 and ask to speak to the Assistant Chief or Shift Commander.
The area at Reed-Keppler Park is open enough, and access will be controlled, so that spectators and families can watch your Fire Department take part in this valuable training opportunity.
