This newsletter is to inform you that the 2017 Main Street and Metra Station Sidewalk Project is tentatively scheduled to begin the Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Construction is scheduled to be completed by November 18, 2017.
This project includes the removal and replacement of existing sidewalks near the intersection of Main Street and Wilson Avenue. The proposed work will not address all sidewalk deficiencies in your neighborhood or any curb and gutter issues; instead, sidewalk replacements will concentrate on the existing pedestrian hazards on the City property between 447 and 461 Main Street and sidewalk ramp from Main Street to the METRA station.
Construction activities for this project are scheduled between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM Monday through Friday and between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM on Saturday. After sidewalk replacement, barriers will be placed on both ends of the sidewalk to prevent residents from utilizing the sidewalk. The City respectively requests that if anyone witnesses the new sidewalk being defaced, please notify the City at (630) 293-2255 or call the City’s police department via 911 to report the incident.
As the work progresses, the City will update you on the project’s status. Please visit www.westchicago.org periodically for the latest construction news update. If you should have any questions regarding the 2017 Main Street and Metra Station Sidewalk Project:
