Stroll down the Illinois Prairie Path, a 61-mile recreational nature trail system that winds its way through West Chicago, and you’ll catch a glimpse of wildlife and beautiful scenery, with many hikers, runners, and bikers enjoying these areas.
The West Chicago Prairie is one of northern Illinois’ premier natural areas. The 316-acre site contains the greatest plant diversity in the county with over 600 plant and wildlife species. Many of the nine walking/hiking trails that meander through the site connect to the Illinois Prairie Path, which extends past the preserve boundaries into Reed-Keppler Park.

The ARC Center – Athletics, Recreation, Community – is located in the heart of Reed-Keppler Park, 201 W. National Street, and offers a variety of fitness options and programs for the entire family. It features a fitness center, locker rooms, 3-court gymnasium, Treehouse play area, walking/running track, multipurpose gym, dance and fitness studios and meeting rooms.
