This newsletter is to inform you that construction for the 2014-2015 Curb Rehabilitation Program is tentatively scheduled to resume throughout the Forest Trails Subdivision during the week of June 1, 2015. The anticipated completion date for the work is the end of June.
As a property owner within the subdivision, you are in receipt of this informational letter but please be advised that not all properties in the subdivision will be directly impacted. This year’s program consists of completing the remainder of the locations that were not repaired in 2014.
The method of curb repair being used is pneumatic shotcrete which repairs smaller, structurally sound sections of damaged curb and gutter by removal using chipping hammers followed by sandblasting and wet-mix shotcrete, where the final surface is contoured and finished to match the adjacent curb and gutter sections. Locations to be repaired will be identified by the City with paint.
Construction activities for this project are scheduled between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM Monday through Friday and between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM on Saturday. After curb replacement, barriers will be placed on both ends of the curb to prevent residents from damaging the curb.
As the work progresses, the City will update you on the project’s status. Please visit www.westchicago.org periodically for the latest construction news update. If you should have any questions regarding the 2014-2015 Curb Rehabilitation Program, please contact:
