The City cordially invites residents and/or property owners to a neighborhood information meeting on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., and/or Thursday, May 2, 2019, at 12:00 p.m., at the West Chicago City Hall, 475 Main Street, West Chicago, Illinois. The purpose of the meeting is to share information and details pertaining the reconstruction of Washington Street, between Arbor Avenue and Clara Street, tentatively scheduled to commence in June 2019. Two meetings are scheduled to help accommodate everyone’s work schedule and availability. The same information will be shared at both meetings, which will cover the following topics:
- Planned construction activities and roadway improvements
- Road closure, construction staging, and duration of project
- Detour route
- Driveway access
- On-street parking and public parking areas/lots
- Access to Businesses during construction and signage
- Pedestrian access
- Methods of communication during construction
The 2019 Washington Street Reconstruction Project is partially being funded by the State of Illinois through a program administered by its Department of Transportation (IDOT). Therefore, IDOT requirements, standards, processes, and schedules to which must be adhered and followed.
