Blooming Fest

The City of West Chicago welcomes you to come visit us for one of our favorite traditions - Blooming Fest!
Blooming Fest is the official welcoming committee of spring, and is held annually in the downtown area of West Chicago on the third Saturday of May. Gardening enthusiasts, and everyone else, are welcome to come explore our history downtown area while viewing a variety of plants, artwork, and other goods from our event vendors.
Apart from our great vendors, the festival also features a large selection of food vendors, live music and activities the whole family can enjoy.
Save the date, and come visit our little city away from the big city to help say - hello spring!
Touch A Truck
Date: Saturday, June 7, 2025
Time: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Location: Reed-Keppler Park
Join this family-friendly, hands-on community event where children (and adults!) can explore, climb on, and learn about a variety of vehicles used in public safety, construction, transportation, and more. This event features police vehicles, fire trucks, dump trucks, snowplows, utility vehicles, and other large machinery.
The event is hosted by the West Chicago Police Department, West Chicago Public Works, West Chicago Fire Protection District, and West Chicago Park District.
Hello Summer
Date: Saturday, June 21, 2025
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Reed-Keppler Park
Hello Summer is a summer kick-off event at Reed-Keppler Park. Join in on the family fun, bounce houses, games, activities, and live entertainment.
The event is organized by the West Chicago Park District.
Railroad Days
Date: Thursday, June 26, 2025 - Sunday, June 29, 2025
Time: Varies
Location: Pioneer Park
Railroad Days is an annual summer festival that was initially intended to celebrate the community's railroad heritage - being the first Illinois community created by the coming of the railroads. This legacy lives on with this annual festival that features a carnival, food vendors, kids activities, live entertainment, and a fireworks display honoring Independence Day.
The event is organized by the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce.
Taco & Art Fest
Date: Saturday, July 26, 2025
Time: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: The Shell at Reed-Keppler Park
Join us for live music, craft and art vendors, live artist demonstrations, art stations, food trucks, a petting zoo, large inflatables, a face painter, a henna artist, family fun, and Taco Wars, where local food vendors will compete for the title of Best Taco!
Special performances by Trabuco Salsa Band, Mariachi Michoacana, D33 Folkloric Ballet. Located at Shell at Reed-Keppler Park at 832 Arbor Ave, West Chicago.

National Night Out

Come together with your neighbors for a night of fun activities in the celebration of community spirit and a reminder that working together helps create safer, stronger neighborhoods. There will be an opportunity to interact with police officers and first responders to share safety tips and work collaboratively to keep neighborhoods safe. Details of the event to be announced.

Food Festival
Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025
Time: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: Downtown West Chicago
Food Festival is exactly how it sounds - a finger-licking fun festival of food. This event is held annually each summer on the fourth Saturday of August during the evening hours, and is filled with live music, a sampling of beverages, fun activities for all ages - and, food. Lots of food!
The outdoor event features a variety of food and beverage trucks placed throughout the downtown area with a series of bands playing live music. Visitors are able to stroll through the downtown area while enjoying some music and enjoying the sights, the smells, and you guessed it - food!
If you come to visit West Chicago for this event, make sure you don't forget to bring your appetite!
Battle of the Bands
Date: Friday, August 29, 2025 - Saturday, August 30, 2025

Location: Reed-Keppler Park
Local bands will compete for the title of 2025 WeGo Rockstar Friday night. Finalists will compete and the winner will be announced Saturday night. Enjoy a live performance on Saturday by our main entertainment, Serendipity! Located at Shell at Reed-Keppler Park at 832 Arbor Ave, West Chicago.

Halloween Festivities
Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025
Time: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Downtown West Chicago
Save the date for a spook-tacular afternoon full of fang-tastic fun for the whole family in downtown West Chicago! The event is held typically on the weekend before Halloween with every year being a little different, but residents can count on a fun downtown trick-or-treat experience along with other fun fall activities.
Frosty Fest
Date: Saturday, December 6, 2025
Time: 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: Downtown West Chicago
Join the community in the downtown area for the City's annual Frosty Fest event that is held annually on the first Saturday of December, and starts out with the official West Chicago Tree Lighting Ceremony. Visitors of the event can expect to enjoy activities such as horse-drawn trolley rides, and also get a visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus. Live music is also a must during this winter wonderland event that has also had ice carvers, hot cocoa, popcorn, and more!
