Educare West DuPage:  Redefining Early Childhood Education and Fostering Bright Futures

Educare West DuPage goes beyond traditional daycare to elevate early childhood education and empower West Chicago families. Located adjacent to Pioneer Park in West Chicago, Educare West DuPage is part of a national network, one of only two Educare schools in Illinois, and the only Educare school in a suburban location in the country, which makes it truly one of a kind.  Here’s how their unique approach sets them apart:

  1. Highly Qualified Educational Team: Unlike traditional daycares, Educare West DuPage boasts a team of three highly qualified educators for each classroom: Lead Teacher, Teacher Assistant, and Teacher Aide. These professionals receive specialized training in early childhood development, ensuring that children receive the best start to their educational journey.
  2. Dual-Language Curriculum: Educare West DuPage embraces diversity and offers a two-way dual-language curriculum to serve children with the greatest need. Children have the unique opportunity to learn in both English and another language, preparing them for a more inclusive and globalized world.
  3. Comprehensive Family Engagement: The organization understands the vital role of family engagement in a child's development. Alongside their educational programs, Educare West DuPage offers comprehensive family engagement services, including access to healthcare, mental health services, parenting resources, and community engagement programs.

The comprehensive early learning program goes above and beyond by nurturing the holistic development of children from six weeks to five years old.  However, the success of the early childhood education model used by Educare West DuPage can only be accomplished through the following.

  • Qualified Staff. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of our young citizens, consider applying for one of the open positions, which currently include Lead Teacher, Teacher Assistant, Teacher Aide or Family Engagement Specialist.  Learn more at educarewestdupage.org/careers.html and to apply.
  • Engaged Families. The program is now enrolling for the current preschool program.  Complete the online Enrollment Inquiry Form at educarewestdupage.org/enrollment.html or call 630.957.5500 to schedule a tour and to get more information.  Subsidies and limited tuition spots are available.
  • Supportive Community. Investment in the future of our children is an investment into the future of the community.  If you’d like to support the efforts of Educare West DuPage, consider making a tax-deductible donation at educarewestdupage.org/ewdearlychildhoodchampion.html.

Educare West DuPage continues to thrive and inspire, shaping the bright and promising future of West Chicago, one child and one family at a time. Learn more about their program and efforts at www.educarewestdupage.org.

Community Partners Hosting Food Drive through September

August 7, 2023 By City of West Chicago

WeGoWarhol_Header-02

The City of West Chicago, Healthy West Chicago, the West Chicago Public Library District, and the West Chicago Park District have teamed up to launch the WeGo Warhol Community Food Drive, aimed at collecting food items for local food pantries through the month of September. This effort coincides with the DuPage County "Warhol" art exhibit at the McAninch Arts Center, and both the art exhibit and the food drive will conclude on Sunday, September 10.

In partnership with the People’s Resource Center, these organizations are calling upon local residents, businesses, and organizations to support fellow community members facing food insecurity caused by rising food costs.

Organizations and community members can contribute to this worthy cause by donating non-perishable food items at various locations across West Chicago, including:

  • West Chicago Park District’s ARC Center at 201 W. National Street
  • West Chicago Public Library at 118 W. Washington Street
  • West Chicago City Hall at 475 Main Street

Examples of donations include canned goods, pasta, rice, canned proteins (such as tuna and chicken), peanut butter, and cereal. For other ideas and examples, please visit the People’s Resource Center’s website to view the most needed items at local pantries.

Please consider making a positive impact on the West Chicago community by participating in the WeGo Warhol Community Food Drive and helping those in need gain access to essential food supplies.

For questions or more information, please email communications@westchicago.org.

If you are in need of food pantry services, please visit the People’s Resource Center’s website to learn how you can begin receiving food from local pantries.
