The City of West Chicago, Healthy West Chicago, the West Chicago Public Library District, and the West Chicago Park District have teamed up to launch the WeGo Warhol Community Food Drive, aimed at collecting food items for local food pantries through the month of September. This effort coincides with the DuPage County "Warhol" art exhibit at the McAninch Arts Center, and both the art exhibit and the food drive will conclude on Sunday, September 10.
In partnership with the People’s Resource Center, these organizations are calling upon local residents, businesses, and organizations to support fellow community members facing food insecurity caused by rising food costs.
Organizations and community members can contribute to this worthy cause by donating non-perishable food items at various locations across West Chicago, including:
- West Chicago Park District’s ARC Center at 201 W. National Street
- West Chicago Public Library at 118 W. Washington Street
- West Chicago City Hall at 475 Main Street
Examples of donations include canned goods, pasta, rice, canned proteins (such as tuna and chicken), peanut butter, and cereal. For other ideas and examples, please visit the People’s Resource Center’s website to view the most needed items at local pantries.
Please consider making a positive impact on the West Chicago community by participating in the WeGo Warhol Community Food Drive and helping those in need gain access to essential food supplies.
