The City of West Chicago’s West Washington Site Soil Removal Project is underway, with substantial completion anticipated by December 2025, weather permitting. Construction activities will occur north of the Wiant House, 151 W Washington Street, and the West Washington Street Train Depot.
Temporary traffic impacts are anticipated during construction as trucks enter and exit the site from Washington Street. Other potential impacts include noise and dust during construction, which is generally scheduled between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Traffic flow may be restricted temporarily during construction, but all streets will remain open to traffic at the end of each workday. Mail delivery, package delivery, and waste collection services are not expected to be disrupted.
