The Mariachi Los Rayos of West Chicago Elementary School District 33’s Leman Middle School performed in Springfield, Illinois in front of Governor J.B. Pritzker, Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, and other Illinois lawmakers as part of the Latino Unity Day Celebration on Wednesday, March 23.
The event was organized by Illinois State Senator Karina Villa and her staff, and other attendees included State Representative Maura Hirschauer along with the City of West Chicago’s Mayor Ruben Pineda.
The City of West Chicago is grateful for all our young creative community members, and congratulates all the musicians from the Mariachi los Rayos of Leman Middle School.
