ComEd Tree Trimming to Occur through October
ComEd will conduct regular vegetation management in West Chicago’s transmission corridor areas from August to October.
These corridors are specific geographic zones where one or more high-voltage electric transmission lines are in operation. West Chicago’s corridors are composed of large steel poles or tower structures, and are primarily located adjacent to interstate highways and railroad tracks.
Qualified line clearance workers will be performing all vegetation management work, which will include aerial trimming via helicopter in remote locations. For tree locations on private property, all customers have been notified by ComEd.
The purpose of these activities is to ensure the reliability and safety of the transmission lines by managing vegetation growth that could potentially interfere with their operation.
For more information about vegetation maintenance along power lines visit ComEd’s website.
